Dr. Brown has been practicing veterinary medicine for 23 years. With a background in research and advanced degrees in microbiology, animal physiology, and immunology, he enjoys solving complex cases and supporting both pets and their families through all stages of life. He moved to North Georgia 14 years ago to be near his grandkids and loves spending time with them. In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking, tinkering with old cars, fishing, hunting, and playing music with his family.

Dr. McDuffee has practiced veterinary medicine for 33 years and treats every patient like her own. She also works part-time with the Veterinary Information Network (VIN). Outside of work, she enjoys the North Georgia mountains, her church, the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and living in a rural area close to the city.

Dr. Jarod Eddy has practiced veterinary medicine for 14 years since graduating from Auburn University. He is dedicated to high-quality care and client education. Outside of work, he enjoys woodworking, camping, mountain biking, and the outdoors.

Dr. Ashley Douglass graduated from Michigan State University in 2014. Her interests include surgery, emergency medicine, and feline care. She enjoys spending time with her son, reading mysteries, running half marathons, and caring for her three dogs, cat, and chicken with her husband, Justin.

Cody Sommers is a recent graduate of Lincoln Memorial University with a passion for supporting people and their pets through the human-animal bond. Outside of work, he enjoys the outdoors, reading, video games, and playing multiple instruments.

Dr. Hitchcock joined AEH in April 2025 and has been a veterinarian since 2022. She is especially interested in emergency, critical care, and internal medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting, quilting, cooking, hiking with her husband and husky, Kira, and relaxing with her cats and a good book.

Angela has worked in veterinary medicine since 2004, starting as a kennel assistant and working her way up to veterinary assistant before becoming Practice Manager at Animal Emergency of Gainesville. She loves the fast pace of emergency medicine and helping animals in critical moments. Outside of work, Angela enjoys time with her husband and three children.

Debbie joined AEH in April 2022 and is a licensed veterinary technician and manager with experience in ER, ICU, neurology, and general practice. She is passionate about complex cases, mentoring, and practicing best medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband and two stepchildren, as well as bonfires, breweries, boating, live music, and a good book.

Dana joined AEH in February 2023 and has 18 years of veterinary experience, including 11 in emergency, critical care, and neurology. She is a mom to two kids, a German Shepherd, and three cats. Outside of work, she enjoys hockey games with her son, gymnastics with her daughter, and camping.

Shana joined AEH in November 2021 and has been a licensed veterinary technician since 2022 after graduating from Baker College. A proud mom of four kids, four dogs, and two cats, she enjoys traveling - especially on motorcycle trips - when not caring for patients.
